Lavender Sachet Teapots

Using WHAT ELSE ? ? ?

Yesssss...Vintage Walllllpaper !

S U R P R I S E

Have you had it with me
And The Vintage Wallpaper Playtime yet ?

Sorry , I still got The Bug.

(and stay tuned for VWP Lanterns....coming soon!)

So here is what I did.

Even tho, I DO realize...

It is no Great Mystery

And probably Pretty Obvious.

Using a Cookie Cutter, traced around in both directions
(for front and back of sachet)

Cut those out.

Then, using this double sided fusible webbing

That has a peel off backside,

It helps this old dry paper have some support and moisture.

The teapots were
Covered with parchment paper

And ironed on to this.

Peeling off parchment while still warm.

These were cut out

And the backing peeled off.

Then placed on to a thin Pellon
But I also tried a thin white cotton fabric which worked well too.
(The thin Pellon allowing the lavender scent out a bit more)

Covered with parchment and ironed down

These were cut out and ready to be sewn
Around the edges on the machine

White fabric sides together

Using a narrow (but not FINE) zigzag stitch

Leaving an opening at bottom

To stuff lavender through

Drew in the handle cut out lines

And sewed them in.

Funnelled bits of lavender in
Finding out that you cannot overstuff the old paper or
It pulls away from the stitching or tears

Back to the sewing machine to sew over the opening

Cut the center out of the handle

Punched hole in top
And hammered in an eyelet

Trimmed up loose threads
And slipped a thin ribbon through the eyelet

Voila !
Vintage Wallpaper Lavender Sachet.

Sniff in !
MMMMmmmmm !

Perfect on a bag for a gift.

Or as A Gift.

Or in the CAR !

(yes ! that is where mine will go)

Or....or...or...? ? ?
