There is no need to run outside For better seeing.... Rather abide At the core of your being: For the more you leave it, the less you learn. Search your heart and see.... The way to do is to be. -Lao-tzu
God created the world and was happy. On the seventh day he decided it was time to rest, but Adam called out: "God, I've got a problem, Eve is trying to feed me this apple, what should I do ?"
And then Eve called with troubles of her own: "God, Adam keeps telling me I have to take care of him and attend to his every need--- How do I make him respect my rights as a human being ?"
And then that quarrelsome twosome had dozens of children, who had hundreds of children, who had thousands of children, and it did not take long before God was thoroughly exhausted with all of their problems and demands for his time.
Calling a meeting of his angles and advisers, God expressed a desire for some peace and quiet.
I'm afraid I've created a monster, " God said, "and I must find a place to hide."
"Perhaps you could hide out at the top of the Himalayas, " one of the angels suggested.
"No," God replied, "I'm afraid you don't understand what I've created. In just a few moments, measured by my time, they will be there, too."
"What about the moon?" suggested one of his advisors.
"No," God replied wearily, "in just a few minutes more they will be there, too."
They sat together, heads in hands, wings folded, wondering how to proceed.
Suddenly a smile spread over God's face.
"I know where they will never look !" he pronounced, looking very pleased with himself.
